The entry point is about $180,000 for an older cottage a few blocks back, and the ceiling is about $3.6 million for an oceanfront house on North Ocean Boulevard, where there are usually only five or six on the market at a time. In between are the raised beach houses on the numbered avenues, the golf homes in Barefoot Resort and Tidewater Plantation, and the channel homes in Cherry Grove with a dock out the back, which run from about $650,000 to $2 million.

North Myrtle Beach Homes for Sale Under $200,000
Buyers searching for North Myrtle Beach homes for sale under $200,000 should know what that budget buys here. It is almost never a house: on a typical day there are one to three single-family homes listed under $200,000 in the whole city, usually older cottages a few blocks back from the beach that need work, and none between $200,000 and $250,000. What $200,000 does buy is a condo. Around 100 North Myrtle Beach condos list under $200,000 at any one time, from efficiency and one-bedroom units in the older oceanfront buildings on Ocean Boulevard to two-bedroom golf villas at Barefoot Resort, the waterway condos at Waterway Landing and Marina Bay, and the walk-to-beach complexes such as Possum Trot and Robbers Roost.
The houses under $200,000 and the condos under $200,000 are both live searches from the MLS, and every condo in the city is on my North Myrtle Beach Condos for Sale page. If a house is what you want at this price, the same money goes further one exit up in Little River or west in Longs, where houses start in the low $200,000s.
North Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Homes for Sale
Beach homes for sale in North Myrtle Beach are a small market. Unlike Myrtle Beach, most of the oceanfront here is low-rise and residential, so the beach houses sit right on the sand along North Ocean Boulevard in Cherry Grove and Ocean Drive, and there are usually only five or six for sale at a time, from about $1.7 million to $3.6 million. Second-row and channel homes with a water view start well under that, and a raised beach house a block or two back is the way most buyers get close to the ocean for under $1 million. North Myrtle Beach | Events & Attractions
North Myrtle Beach inhabitants enjoy numerous year-round benefits including festivals, exciting amusement parks, a myriad of recreational activities, conveniently located shopping plazas, and delicious dining options.
North Myrtle Beach also hosts many lively community festivals like “Taste of the Coast,” a food extravaganza offering diverse authentic cuisines, and the annual May Fest which features local artists' works, live music and some of the best comfort food in the state.
A long list of outdoor activities is also available in North Myrtle Beach, including numerous opportunities to water-ski, surf, kayak, fish, swim and so much more! Furthermore, North Myrtle Beach also affords great options for shopping at Barefoot Landing, the Tanger Outlets or the Myrtle Beach Mall.
North Myrtle Beach is also home to some mouthwatering eateries like Sea Blue, Hoskins Restaurant, Greg Norman's, and the Flying-Fish Public Market and Grill.
The city is also building a $6.5 million, 15-court pickleball complex off Possum Trot Road, adding to the courts already at McLean Park, Hill Street Park and the Park and Sports Complex.
North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex
The city completed a $36 million, 90-acre expansion of the Park & Sports Complex in February 2026. Baseball and softball fields doubled from six to twelve, soccer fields went from eight to thirteen, and two new playgrounds were added to the site off Highway 31 and Robert Edge Parkway.
The first tournament on the expanded fields drew 70 teams from 14 states. The complex now runs softball and baseball tournaments in every month except December and January, and the city's Christmas Light Show is expanding along with it.
For families, that matters beyond the economics. Youth baseball, softball and soccer have grown quickly here, and the additional fields mean local children are no longer competing with visiting tournaments for space.
Four Beach Sections
Cherry Grove, Ocean Drive, Crescent Beach and Windy Hill, each with its own character.
Small Town Feel
Just over 22,000 residents across roughly 13.5 square miles.
Barefoot Landing
Shopping, dining and live music, with the Tanger Outlets nearby.
Additionally, homebuyers looking to relocate to North Myrtle Beach will not only be delighted with all of these fabulous features, but they will also be pleasantly surprised by the quantity and quality of its homes for sale.
Ocean Drive & the Shag
Main Street in Ocean Drive is the home of the Shag — the official state dance of South Carolina.
The Ocean Drive section is where Carolina beach music and the Shag took hold, and Main Street remains the center of it. Fat Harold's Beach Club, Duck's, the OD Arcade and the Spanish Galleon still draw dancers from across the country.
Twice a year the Society of Stranders brings thousands of shaggers to Main Street — Spring Safari in April and Fall Migration in September — along with block parties, live bands and a club parade. It has been described as the largest adult party on the East Coast, and it fills the town outside the usual summer season.
For buyers, that is worth understanding. Ocean Drive is walkable, social and busy in a way the other beach sections are not, which suits some people exactly and others not at all.

Why Buyers Choose North Myrtle Beach
North Myrtle Beach draws buyers who want the coast without the crowds. It has the same beach, the same golf and the same weather as its larger neighbor, but at 22,000 residents across 13.5 square miles it still functions as a town rather than a resort strip.
It also spreads across four distinct beach sections, which matters more than people expect. Cherry Grove with its inlet channels, Ocean Drive with Main Street and the shag scene, Crescent Beach and Windy Hill all feel different from one another — and the right one depends on whether you want boat access, walkability, or quiet.
